Why I am doing RFTK in 2026!
17 years ago, I suffered a serious head injury that changed my life.
It was a season that affected not only me, but my whole family. There was a lot to navigate, and at the time we didn’t have the support of an organisation like Brainwave.
That’s why this cause means something to me.
This October, I’m combining something deeply personal with something I love, cycling.
My goal is to ride 1,700km during the Month of October and raise $1,700 for Brainwave.
That’s 100km for every year since my injury.
Brainwave supports children and families impacted by neurological conditions and brain injury, helping provide the kind of care, community and practical support that can make an enormous difference during some of the hardest seasons a family can face.
Cycling has become a huge part of my life. It gives me space to think, pray, push myself, explore and appreciate just how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do today. So using the bike to help families walking a road that in some ways I understand personally feels incredibly worthwhile.
1,700km. One month. $1,700.
It will mean averaging around 55km every day throughout October so there are going to be some tired legs along the way!
If you’d like to support me, every donation, big or small, would mean a lot. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser and helping spread the word would be just as appreciated.
17 years on, I’m incredibly grateful for how far life has come.
Now I’d love to use some of those kilometres to help another child and another family on their journey.
Let’s ride 1,700km for Brainwave. 🚴♂️🧠💙
